Every year thousands of bikers hit the road to ride for their favorite charities. It’s their way of giving back to their community; but what happens when that biker, or any other biker or passenger loses his or her life while riding a motorcycle? Where does the riders family go for help at what may be the most difficult time in their lives? NO ONE RIDES FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILY…UNITL NOW!!
This picture send chills down my spine and brings me back to a Motorcycle accident my husband Ray and I were involved in on July 13, 2013. It appeared in a newspaper in Athens, Ohio, as we were life flighted off the interstate to Grant Medical Center in Columbus. We were lucky enough to survive, but a club member riding with us, was not. The Fallen Riders Memorial Fund in Ohio had grown to the point where they were able to help us as injured riders, and what a difference that help made! We were both hospitalized for 2 weeks before we could return to our home state and the last thing we wanted to worry about was how our rent would get paid. My husband remained out of work for 6 months and I never returned due to my injuries but The Fallen Riders Memorial Fund was there for us, They also memorialized our Fallen Sister, June Murray, on the Memorial plaque….this is one of the reasons we are so passionate about building a fund here in Florida, not to mention Florida is a magnet state for Motorcycles and the statistics are staggering* – Please help us help others, Sincerely, Erika Simard-Flynn* Taken from : http://www.pajcic.com/motorcycle-accident/safety
